On Saturday, 6 September 2025, it was time for the Bremskerl team ‘Wesermonster’ to grab their paddles and go full steam ahead! At the 4th Rotary Dragon Boat Cup in Nienburg Harbor, our newly formed team – consisting of dedicated trainees and colleagues – competed for the first time in this constellation. And with great success: 3rd place out of a total of five teams!
Particularly noteworthy: all participants were new to water sports. This makes their achievement, which was achieved with a great deal of team spirit, enthusiasm and sporting ambition, all the more impressive. The team was supported by a vociferous fan club made up of colleagues, who provided additional motivation and a great atmosphere with their enthusiasm.
The event itself was a complete success – with bright sunshine, good spirits and a great atmosphere, the day was all about working together for a good cause.
A big thank you goes to the Rotary Club Stolzenau for the excellent organisation and to the DLRG Uchte, who ensured safety on the water.
The ‘Wesermonster’ team is already looking forward to the next Dragon Boat Cup on 29 August 2026 – with the aim of paddling their way onto the podium again. And perhaps with even more company teams, even more publicity and even more enthusiasm for this special event.
